Despite the apparent simplicity of the samples you used for this trackertune, the amount of expression heard in that lead parts, as well as the dual-natured background sequenced squares, is quite impeccable, almost as if an actual Middle Eastern musician gave it a shot and produced something that's reminiscent of actual Middle Eastern music, as opposed to the pastiche nature of orientalist music. Rating's a commendable one.

Viraxor responds:

Thanks JWPH! It's not in the samples, it's in the notes :)

It's bespoke of a pastel-hued fever dream, isn't it? And in a fun sort of way, even when it doesn't traditionally make any sense.

Viraxor responds:

I had the feeling of a forced smile in my head when I made this. :)

Listening through this track of yours, it does just enough to communicate a sense of hopelessness, with equal amounts of frantic-ness and aggression, on a fine balance of the chipped and acoustic (in this case, the orchestral and drum parts). Although, as a minor nitpick, at around 0:34, the gain and compression seems a bit too high for my ears, especially when the samples join in harmony together. Overall, quite effective and cowboy-western-sounding.

CicloOfficial responds:

yoo thanks for the feedback, i rly appreciate it. As for the tune, i kinda agree, but at the same time idk what i was doing so yeah. Also at some points it is too loud and it really needs to be fixed :)

Just what I had needed for that post-graduation prom dance practice vibe...
Other than that, it's got everything in the final mix right, down to the softened chord samples.

Viraxor responds:

Thanks!

Tight and watery, as in a sudden-death situation, it somehow fits the main character of a certain action-fantasy Tapas webcomic (to which I have come to like and sometimes theorize ever since) and her rather-interlinked past, judging from the pulsating bass and drum samples that are wholly present in this DnB track.

This is a definite 5-star from yours truly!

DreamSimulator responds:

TY. I love insight and feedback like this

Similar to a certain Youtube video I watched a while ago which was a short Eurorack synth music jam, this track might make you fall asleep, zone out of the noisy cacophony that is social media for a little while, or even make you feel a bit inspired on one's hobbies and crafts. And all for this piece of music that while it might need some tweaking, in terms of tonal variation and overall mastering, it'll certainly be a soft gem amongst this digital sea.

If there's anythung I could say about this particular track, it's that you nailed it on bringing forth this atmosphere of impending disaster. Although the guitar solo ends rather abruptly, it does more to accompany the preceding ambient sounds herein.

OrangeFluff responds:

Thanks for the review!
Yeah, couldn't think of a better ending so that's how it turned out, probably should've worked on it for a bit longer, but there is always a next time, so I will try to do this in the next track I make :D

First of all, the bass and accompanying audio lines do mix well in here, and essentially moving at every turn.

Next, the beeps, especially when put under a somewhat heavy, yet short reverb, force the idea of something urgent, or in other cases, a modern ominous scene, which you surprisingly did good at that.

And lastly, the production quality is quite on par with other dark ambient tunes out there, with no hiccups, and most of all, how all of these elements reinforce the atmosphere in such an effective way, without needing to add more.

OrangeFluff responds:

Thanks for this wonderful review, it was such a pleasure to read it!
I'm glad I managed to express the mood and cope the production, tried to not overdo anything, glad it worked >w<

All this 631 seconds worth of riffs and chords from your guitars, audio software, drums, and most of all, your musical skills, were worth both the tribute and the journey. Like keith303's "Guitarphobia", Skaven's many impressive trackertunes, and Gopher's "Journeyman's Quest", among others, as I'm typing this, this audio track evokes emotions that reach deep within one's heart, one that inspires them to rise up and do better, not just for themselves, but also for the benefit of others, many of which are in situations much worse than ours, and thus need our assistance and encouragement. Flawed as your instruments might be at first glance, you shone your talents well, despite of it. The audio levels and tuning are just at the right moment. And for all of that, I commend you all for making such a hard-worked remake of this site's anthem.

As the D major/B minor chord represents a new life, so does this one stomping track, by an audio master.
